The weather outside is frightful

It is a snow day and there is nothing better than stitching. This is Butterfly Fairy from Mirabilia. This is only the second Mirabilia that I have done, the first one was Mermaid of Atlantis. I think 2011 will be a Mirablia year, the Fairys and Mermaids are so beautiful. In January I am participating in a mermaid SAL. It is also such a busy time of the year, baking, wrapping and decorating, oh .... and shoveling snow. Have a great week all.

mistake fixed

Found my counting mistake and now all is good.I am flying to Vancouver on Friday to see a bone specialist for my shoulder and then spending the weekend in Edmonton with my daughters.
I don't know what kind of cold I had but I have been coughing for 3 weeks, been on antibiotics for a few days now and have been rapidly improving.
No snow here but there has been plenty of it all around me, I hope it is over now.

mri

the mri report was not good. I have a torn ligament and a torn tendon and osteoarthritis in the top of my shoulder. This makes for difficult surgery, I feel like crying. I intend to spent as much time as I possibly can stitching. Goodbye facebook games.

oh no I made a boo boo

While I was waiting for the chart for the fall goddess I stitched on the Mermaid. This one I will bead as I go as there are a ton of beads in this one.I had an MRI done on my shoulder last week and I hope I never have to go in that machine again. I was in there for 30 minutes and I was scared and I kept my eyes jammed shut the whole time.Next week I have an appointment with a specialist, so I will see what he has to say. I am hoping for orthoscopic . I will find out the mri results tomorrow and I hope the tendons aren't severed just tore.
I was having a frustrating time with the fall goddess. I was stitching from the pattern that was in the cross stitch collection magazine and for some reason where the 4 pages met I kept making a mistake. I ordered the chart from Polstitches and it came today and happily I got that straightened out, although my progress did shrink alittle on that piece.

found(didn't know it was lost}

And this is Jack, he was visiting along with the grandkids over the Easter holidays. He had a great time playing with my dog.
I was looking for a book and knocked over a box and out popped Mermaids of the Deep Blue. I have no idea when I started this one but I have been stitching on it for the last few days. I am stitching this on a 32c linen and I must admit I am a linen addict, it is my favorite material to stitch on.

Happy St. Patty's day

The forecast for the next couple of days is for some snow and I am going to finish this guy before the snow melts. Just a couple of bunnys and then the back stitching.
May the luck of the Irish be with everyone.

and the snowman is
still alive and I think the little racoon is so adorable.Hugs to all and hope your stitching is going great.

Heavy Heart

I have spent quite a few hours stitching on my snowman and I love the colors in him. I hope that all who read my blog are safe and well tonight.

Last night was a horrific night. At 9PM my neighbors house burnt down. Thankfully the family got out of the house. As you can see in the picture the house beside it also suffered damage.I live across the street from this house. The house was new only 3 years old and the young family were so happy, it was their first home. The parents smoked outside and when the weather was bad they smoked in their garage putting their ashes and butts in a can which tragically is what caused the fire.

He's Growing

Feb 8/2010 is a day I am looking forward to. I will finally be having an ultrasound for my shoulder and then I will know what the extend of my injury is and what will be done to fix it.My physio therapist tells me to expect surgery and extensive physio therapy after that.I'll figure out someway to stitch, and I have a couple of books that I want to read. I was reading some of the blogs I follow and they are from places south of me and it is so refreshing to see signs of spring being posted. And that means Easter is coming which is my favorite holiday. I love spring, seeing everything come back to life again.

Snowman Stocking

Here is my snowman stocking. I can't believe after all my years of stitching that this is my first stocking, and reflecting back on my previous pieces this is also the first time I have done any snowmen. A catalogue arrived in the mail yesterday from Herrshners and on the cover is a lap blanket with snowmen. This got me to thinking that I will make stockings and a lap blanket for each of my grandkids. So now the search is on for the themes for each child.
